About The Author

Alison Butler is a mental health and burnout prevention educator from “the edge of the world”, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. She has been speaking and providing training to workplaces for over 20 years and is passionate about helping others feel like great versions of themselves.

After her own lived experience with burnout as a high-achieving employee and subsequent diagnosis of depression and anxiety, Alison wanted to use her voice to have more conversations about mental health.

She became a certified Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course instructor through the Mental Health Commission of Canada and after working with hundreds of workplace groups, noticed how many people were struggling with stress and seemed to be on the road to burnout.

Pulling from her educational background, including a Masters in Employment Relations (MER), professional certification in Trauma and Resilience and passion for the topic, Alison now supports individuals and workplace groups with burnout prevention.

Alison describes her mental health challenges as the “best thing that ever happened to her” and works on her mental wellbeing every day in order to show up as a great version of herself for her family.
